Institutional Policy Manual & Almanac Code

Important Note to Parents & Guardians:The school firmly believes that discipline is foundational to academic excellence and character building. The institutional code outlined below aims to provide a progressive corrective mechanism. Parents are required to read, understand, and jointly sign this policy with their ward at the commencement of the academic session.

Regulatory Framework and Purpose

In accordance with the mandates and bylaws of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Right to Education regulations, this school implements a system of progressive discipline. The objective is to foster a safe, positive, and structured environment while ensuring due process and objective assessment before arriving at absolute administrative actions, such as a compulsory Transfer Certificate (TC) or Rustication.

Institutional Discipline Committee (Idc)/ Grievance Redressal Committee

To ensure fair play and prevent arbitrary actions, all major disciplinary infractions are managed by the Institutional Discipline Committee / grievance redressal committee. No student shall receive an advanced disciplinary status without the collective review of this committee, composed of:

  • Principal / Vice-Principal (Chairperson)
  • Headmistress / Headmaster / Coordinators
  • Senior Teacher Representative / House Mistress/ House Master
  • In-house School Counselor.

The Three-tier Progressive Card System

The school operates a structured Three-Tier Card System to monitor, correct, and log persistent or severe student behavioral missteps.

LEVEL:1 THE YELLOW CARD ( Official Warning & Behavioral Counselling)
Criteria for IssuanceHabitual late arrival, persistent uniform default, incomplete academic or home assignments, use of abusive or inappropriate language, classroom disruption, or possession of unauthorized items (e.g., non-educational electronic gadgets).
Administrative ProtocolIssued directly by the Class Teacher / House Masters / Coordinators. The card must be carried home, signed by the parent/guardian, and returned to the school the following morning.
Corrective ActionMandatory counseling session with the School Counselor. Withdrawal from recreational, recess, or physical education periods for a duration of 3 to 5 instructional days to perform structured reflection.
Threshold for EscalationAccumulation of three (3) Yellow Cards within a single academic year automatically elevates the student's status to a Level 2 Blue Card.
LEVEL:2 THE BLUE CARD ( Depriation of Priveleges & Formal Probobation)
Criteria for IssuanceAccumulation of 3 Yellow Cards, truancy (bunking classes/assembly), direct insubordination or disrespect toward teaching or administrative staff, academic dishonesty (cheating during internal assessments), or minor damage to school property.
Administrative ProtocolIssued exclusively by the Institutional Discipline Committee (IDC). Parents are formally summoned for an emergency conference. The card is countersigned by the Academic Coordinator, Parent, and Student alongside a signed undertaking.
Corrective ActionThe student is stripped of institutional privileges for 15 to 30 days. This includes a ban from school excursions, cultural events, sports meets, annual day celebrations, and holding any student council or prefectural office.
Threshold for EscalationAccumulation of two (2) Blue Cards within an academic cycle shifts the student automatically to the Level 3 Red Card status.
LEVEL 3: THE RED CARD (Suspension & Final Show-Cause)
Criteria for IssuanceAccumulation of 2 Blue Cards, physical assault or active bullying/ragging, cyber-bullying or defaming the institution online, theft, deliberate vandalism of school assets, or possession/use of prohibited substances on campus.
Administrative ProtocolIssued by the Principal following an IDC fact-finding inquiry. A formal administrative Show-Cause Notice is delivered to the parent/guardian regarding the student’s continuation in the school.
Corrective ActionImmediate suspension from the school campus and academic environment for a period of 5 to 7 working days. The student is prohibited from taking part in regular instructional periods, and the infraction is permanently recorded in the student's central dossier.
Ultimate OutcomeThis serves as the final warning. Any further behavioral default or breach of the signed undertaking following a Red Card will lead straight to administrative expulsion or the compulsory issuance of a Transfer Certificate (TC).

Legal Fast-track & Absolute Infractions

The school management reserves the right to bypass the progressive card system entirely under exceptional circumstances. In cases involving grave criminal offenses, severe physical violence threatening the safety of other pupils, weapon possession, or flagrant moral turpitude, the Institutional Discipline Committee may execute immediate long-term suspension or issue a compulsory Transfer Certificate, keeping in view the safety of the collective school community.

The Legal & Procedural Trail

To ensure complete compliance with judicial precedents governing educational institutions, the school maintains an airtight documentation trail before executing a compulsory TC or rustication. This includes:

  • Signed copies of all progressive cards by parents.
  • Written and signed parental undertakings collected during Level 2 and Level 3 meetings.
  • Logs of remedial interventions, corrective counseling, and behavioral maps prepared by the school counselor.
  • Official minutes and resolution recommendations signed by all active members of the Institutional Discipline Committee.
